On Thursday, November 7, 2024, representatives Cristina Pérez from FUNDACION HAZLOPOSIBLE (Spain), Andria Hadjicosta from IEEN/YEMPF (Cyprus), and Nikolco Gosev from SmartUp (North Macedonia) gathered to discuss the goals of the Action4Climate project.
Focused on the Mediterranean subregion, as it currently shows the greatest signs of vulnerability to climate change, this initiative will address these issues through education, sustainability, and meaningful climate action.
At SmartUp, our role includes crafting data storytelling guidelines that will help young people better understand environmental challenges and promote environmental literacy, with the purpose of giving good examples on how to combat climate change disinformation. Moreover, the project will create a library of open educational resources and provide guidelines on engaging young people in developing educational games through the design thinking methodology. All efforts will culminate in a Climathon at the end of the project.
Over the next 18 months, we are committed to directly supporting the education and development of sustainability initiatives for climate action, particularly targeting the younger generation in the beneficiary communities.
As part of kickoff meeting, our team visited the Fund for Innovation & Technology Development and Eco-Logic, where we learned more about their ongoing climate-focused projects which gave us a valuable insight about what steps do they take towards a positive climate change.
Together, we’re building a foundation for climate resilience, so join us on our journey in taking action towards positive climate change!
