Action4Climate - Shaping a Sustainable Future by Inspiring Young People to Tackle Climate Change
Action4Climate is an international project scaled from the Fundación Hazloposible initiative, Acción por el Clima (2019). The project focuses on supporting sustainability and climate action education, particularly targeting the younger generation in vulnerable Mediterranean regions, such as Spain, Cyprus, and North Macedonia. We’ve partnered with Fundación Hazloposible (Spain) and The Youth Employment/Training Foundation (IEEN), a non-profit based in Cyprus to work together on promoting climate awareness and sustainable initiatives through education, research, and community engagement.
The goal
The goal of this project is to increase environmental literacy in young people, in order to inspire future generations to develop environmental consciousness and engage in informed environmental fact-checking and knowledge-sharing. The project will encourage the youth by providing them with the tools and resources needed to actively contribute to climate action.
Additionally, it will promote an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging individuals to transform their ideas into small-scale green projects that support sustainability and environmental resilience.
Key activities
As a part of this project, SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab is dedicating time and effort and committing to deliver:
- Data storytelling guidelines designed to engage and inform youth (and the general public) about climate change, promoting environmental literacy through accessible, visual, and fact-checked content to inspire action and spread knowledge.
- Train 10 ambitious young people and video record their stories
- Offer support and assist in other activities, processes and developing the climate data platform.
The Action4Climate project is designed to ignite a sense of responsibility and action among young people in vulnerable Mediterranean regions. By combining education, community engagement, and innovative tools like the climate data platform, we will equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to tackle climate challenges head-on. This initiative will push a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders, encouraging them to transform their ideas into impactful green projects and inspire collective action for a sustainable future.
