SafeCyberEDU - ‘The Cybersecurity Training for Teachers’ course

As an innovation lab committed to identifying transformative opportunities, we constantly look for opportunities that can profoundly impact the development of new skills and empower our society to navigate evolving challenges. In today’s digital era, the indispensability of cybersecurity is underscored, especially within the realm of education. As educators increasingly integrate digital technology to enhance learning experiences, their susceptibility to cyber threats grows.

Collaborating with our partners, we have created ‘The Cybersecurity Training for Teachers’ course as part of the ‘Safe Cyber EDU’ Project. This program aims to narrow the knowledge gap, furnishing educators with practical tools and resources to seamlessly incorporate cybersecurity best practices into their teaching methods.

The goal

The goal of this project is to provide teachers with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity and its relevance in digital learning, enabling them to recognize and mitigate various cybersecurity threats and attacks. This comprehensive course will not only provide teachers with insights into various techniques for students to safeguard themselves while using technology. Still, it will instill best cybersecurity practices through protective and preventive measures. Additionally, participants will gain a nuanced understanding of cybersecurity laws, acts, and pertinent regulatory organizations and bodies.

The Objectives

Some of the set objectives and planned project activities that will help in reaching the goal are:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive online cybersecurity training course available to 20,000 teachers in North Macedonia
  2. Organizing several webinars on cybersecurity

The Impact

Reaching the goal of this initiative will also have several impactful outcomes, that will help the educators of North Macedonia to better understand the ways to stay safe while using technology.

  • Increased understanding of cybersecurity and its relevance in digital learning
  • Improved ability to identify and mitigate various cybersecurity threats and attacks
  • Awareness of techniques that students can use to protect themselves when using technology
  • Incorporation of best cybersecurity practices through protective and preventive measures
