The first capacity building workshop for the “Resilience Lab Sveti Nikole” implemented within the Pathways2Resilience programme was held last Monday, 11 November, in the Municipality of Sv. Nikole. The purpose of this workshop was to introduce the city employees to the project, the capacity building programme and start working on the initial baseline that will lead to development of climate resilience strategy and action plan.
In the first part of the workshop, participants discussed Sveti Nikole’s current situation, analyzed the available data and relevant evidence, assessing each party’s interests and level of influence.
In the second part of the workshop, we focused on identifying the primary challenges the municipality is facing, and the key stakeholders in the community.
We have successfully outlined the tasks for the upcoming months, including data collection, system mapping, risk assessment related to climate change, evaluation of local capacities and resources, and preparing a baseline report by March 2025.
This workshop is a part of an 18-month long capacity building program, equipping the 40 participating regions with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to identify and strengthen the key competencies and capabilities needed to transition to climate resilience.
This activity is part of the project “Resilience Lab Sveti Nikole”, coordinated by Municipality of Sveti Nikole, in partnership with SmartUp – Social Innovation Lab and part of the #Pathway2Resilience program, financed by EIT Climate-KIC.
